#Driving from the apps

Chatspaces manages the machine; the conversation with your agent happens in that agent's own app — Claude or ChatGPT — on your phone, desktop, or the web. This page explains how to get there and what to expect in each.

#The hand-off

When your chatspace is running, the Chatspaces app shows an Open in Claude or Open in Codex button. Tap it and you land in the agent's app, talking to the agent that's running on your machine.

You can move freely between the two apps:

• Chatspaces app — manage the machine: status, start/stop, links, environments, settings, and answering setup prompts.
• Claude / ChatGPT app — the actual conversation: give instructions, watch the work, approve actions.

Status in the Chatspaces app updates live, so when the agent finishes something you'll see it reflect even before you switch back.

#In the Claude app

Open in Claude takes you to your chatspace's session in the Claude app. It's a normal Claude conversation — except Claude is running on your cloud machine, with your repo and your tools.

• Pick up the same conversation across phone, desktop, and web — it's tied to the chatspace, not the device.
• Stop and resume the chatspace later and the conversation continues where it left off.
• Some moments — permission prompts, pickers, the sign-in step — are surfaced natively in the Chatspaces app so you can answer them there without hopping over to Claude.

#In the ChatGPT app (Codex)

For Codex, your chatspace shows up inside the ChatGPT app as a connected workspace:

• The machine appears as a device/workspace under your ChatGPT account, with your cloned repo as the project.
• You can open the conversation Chatspaces started for you, or start new chats in that workspace right from your phone.
• You manage threads natively in ChatGPT — start as many as you like.

#Which surfaces work?

You can drive a running chatspace from wherever the Claude or ChatGPT app runs — iOS, desktop, and web. The Chatspaces app itself is iOS-first today (iPhone and iPad), with Android on the way.
