#Plans & billing
Start free and upgrade when this becomes how you ship. The machine is the same on every plan — paid plans give you more weekly compute and more chatspaces.
#Plans
| Plan | Price | Est. active hrs/week* | Running at once | Total chatspaces |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | ~2 | 1 | 2 |
| Hobby | $19/mo | ~10 | 2 | 5 |
| Pro | $69/mo | ~50 | 10 | 20 |
| Max | $149/mo | ~250 | 25 | 50 |
* Estimated. Usage is metered by CPU & memory, not wall-clock — see Usage & limits. Cancel anytime.
- Free — kick the tires; enough for the occasional task.
- Hobby — for nights and weekends.
- Pro — for when this is how you ship. (Recommended.)
- Max — for going all-in.
#How billing works
Subscriptions are handled through secure web checkout. From the app, open the upgrade screen and you'll be taken to checkout to enter payment; once you're done, your new plan is live and you come straight back to the app.
Region matters. Depending on where you are, the app may show prices and an upgrade button, or it may show the plans and direct you to chatspaces.dev to sign up on the web. Either way, after you subscribe you sign in to the app with the same account and your plan is active.
#Upgrading
- Open the app and go to the upgrade screen (in your account/settings, or the prompt you see when you hit a limit).
- Pick a plan and complete checkout (on the web, if your region directs you there).
- You're done — the new plan applies immediately, including a bigger weekly budget and higher limits. If you were blocked by your old budget, you can start again right away.
#Downgrading
Move to a lower plan from Account → Manage subscription. A downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you keep your current plan's limits until then.
After a downgrade, your limits drop to the new plan's:
- If you now own more chatspaces than the new total allows, the existing ones keep working, but you can't create new ones until you delete enough to get under the cap.
- If more are running than the new "running at once" limit, nothing currently running is stopped — but you won't be able to start another past the limit.
- Your weekly budget becomes the new plan's amount at your next reset.
#Cancelling
Cancel any time from Account → Manage subscription. You keep your paid plan until the end of the current billing period, then drop to Free (1 running chatspace, 2 total, the free weekly budget). Your chatspaces aren't deleted — the same limit rules above apply if you're over the free caps.
#Managing your subscription
Account → Manage subscription opens your billing portal, where you can change plans, update your payment method, see invoices, or cancel.
#Seeing your usage
Your current weekly usage (as a percentage of your budget) and your reset time are shown in the app. For what counts toward it, see Usage & limits.
